mixed-media installation with accompanying zine & film series
Gallery 479, Santa Barbara, CA

Our concerns for this project were numerous, but revolved around a shared obsession with catastrophe; skepticism toward labor narratives; and desire to find small, temporary, but workable solutions to the contemporary problem of being human.

"What do we do after work?"

This question is discussed around the fire. We cart in our baggage and record our observations. We wonder aloud. We take time to share stories.

Materials for AFTERWORK were found or salvaged within walking distance from the presentation space, Gallary 479, on the campus of the University of California Santa Barbara, next to the unincorporated township of Isla Visa. The presentation was accompanied by a daily publication and nightly film screening.
