Arp Shapes

Some close friends of ours are getting married in April. The bride is an awesome lady with a master's degree in Art History and a special interest in all things art/cat/nature/history related. Her husband-to-be is an equally as awesome person and spends the great majority of his time making some amazingly beautiful paintings and watercolors. They also share a love of Dada artist Jean (Hans) Arp.

So while we were in Kansas for Christmas, we spent some time in Erik's dad's woodshop and made them some Arp-inspired wooden yard ornaments.

The shapes were hand-cut out of some scraps of solid pine, then sanded, primed, painted, and sealed.

As we were packing them up it started to snow.

This one we kept for ourselves.
